Zoo Miami, the oldest zoo in Florida, has 3,000 animals that call her home and she’s packed with adventures to be had from start to finish. The zoo is open weekdays from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM and weekends from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. She’s even open on Thanksgiving Day from 9:30 AM to 3:30 PM and Christmas Day from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM.

A not to miss exhibit is that of the American Banker’s Family Aviary & Wings of Asia. The aviary allows the birds to fly free and swoop over your head as you travel through the space. Talk about a thrilling experience.
You may even get lucky enough to have a bird land on your arm or head for a moment of peace and serenity. There are aquatic birds that can be seen from the observation center and from behind two waterfalls from the conservation center.
During your visit to Zoo Miami, you will also get up close to animals from Africa, the America’s, and Australia. You’ll even want to leave time to explore the Avian Dinosaur Connection. There is so much to do, Zoo Miami recommends leaving between 4-5 hours to experience everything the zoo has to offer.
Make sure you leave time to explore Dr. Wilde’s World, the hands-on experience at the zoo. This 7,000 square foot exhibit is indoors and air conditioned. You’ll be able to get up close with and touch a variety of artifacts and unique specimens. The goal of the exhibit is to bring out the explorer in each guest.
Don’t worry about the little ones, take them to the Children’s Zoo! The Children’s Zoo doesn’t have to just be for children though.
We all love petting animals and a with a visit to the Children’s Zoo will take you to the Wacky Barn where you and your little ones can pet and feed the likes of sheep, miniature horses, goats, alpaca, and many more farm animals.
